My NEW Decor Elements Bathroom!
I'm sorry for how pitiful my posts have been! July 1st hit and the crazy schedule began. We've had some large Customer Events in addition to our Team's New Year Kick off Event… there's just been no time! But the GOOD news is, I was able to sit down and PLAY last night, and have a bunch of new cards to show you using brand new product! I'll be sure to post them this week… but this week is also going to be a little busy as my 7-month old nephew has come to stay with us for the week!
Today, I wanted to share with you what my busy schedule has included! My Studio bathroom has received a HUGE makeover!!!!! Here's a look at what the bathroom looked like a week ago:

Quite the mess, hunh!? Let me just say that I have gained a whole new set of skills… I did all of the wall patching, etc. myself!! Here's a look at the bathroom after:

Te-he-he-he-he!!!! I'm THRILLED!!!!!!!! Just LOVE these Decor Elements:

The big chocolate one is brand new, it's called "Wild Flower Bouquet" — I used the Medium Sized Chocolate Chip, Item #121664 for $21.95. A smaller and a larger version is available, they also come in Crumb Cake or White! The butterflies are not new, but I thought the artwork of them went really well with the bouquet so decided to combine the two. The shower curtain was my inspiration for the color scheme! The butterfly Decor Elements are called "Flutter" – I used the Rose Red Medium, Item #117824 and the Tempting Turquoise Medium, Item #117825. These elements are available in a larger size and are also available in Dark Gray, Chocolate, So Saffron and White.
I applied the butterflies so that they flew right over the mirror:

TIP: When you're trying to line up an assortment of images, try pinning them up with Painter's Tape so that you can move them around and play with the design without it being permanent:

The Scrapbook Room of Dreams!
While I was out for Leadership Conference in Arizona, I visited with my aunt who lives in Fountain Hills! Well…. my aunt turned scrapbooker about 8 years ago when she came down to New York to visit my mom and I… she's been longing for a Scrapbook Room of her own, and is the perfect example of good things come to those who wait! My uncle finally caved and gave her the go ahead to have their guest room re-modled and turned into a Scrapbook Room! Here are some photos!
Don't you just love the colors that she choose!? I just adore the lights, too!

She ordered this Decor Element, and had me put it up for her as soon as I got there. I just love how it looks over her shelves! The perfect choice!

She's used lots of wonderful baskets, bins and jars to organize all of her supplies on this cube shelving unit…

The desk pulls out to triple it's length for when she's actually working, and are glass top so clear images when stamping aren't an issue!

She has this big closet that takes up an entire wall that is made of sliding mirrors. She didn't like the mirrors for a Scrapbook Room, so got creative and hung these sliding shades over them…

When you slide them open, you can see where she has lots more storage for supplies!

Getting Back in the Swing of Things
Hi Everyone!
Well, I'm working hard on getting back in the swing of things, but Christmas Celebrations are still continuing in our family! We have our last Christmas Party this coming Sunday, but I have a few days in here to re-coop and get back to some stamping! Although, my studio is a DISASTER Zone, so before I do ANYTHING I have to go down and pick up…. and I have the Birthday Card Class coming up on Saturday that I need to prep for…. so we'll see how the Stamping for Fun thing goes, I might not have something new to show you but I'll come up with something to get posts going again!
For today, I'm just going to share some Christmas Photos that relate to Stampin' Up!. The first one here is me helping Landon write in his "Letter's to Santa" book! Refer to This Post to see what I'm taking about…

I was hoping to get his photo with Santa in the book so you could see the layout but haven't gotten to it yet…. soon!
The next thing I thought I would share is a shirt that I made for Brad with the Snowboard Decor Element:

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:
- Decor Elements work best on a smooth, hard surface — but with a little extra effort, you can get them to transfer onto fabric, but isn't a permanent hold.
- Here, I transferred the Decor Element on to the shirt, spritzed the shirt with a bleach/water mixture, and them peeled away the Decor Element to reveal the true color of the shirt — glorified masking!
- I started with a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture of water and bleach, but ended up with 3/4 bleach. I think the potency depends on the quality of the shirt you're working with — the cheaper shirts are easy to bleach, but this was a higher quality fabric that seemed to resist the bleach a little bit. I think the color of the fabric also is an influence — if you're bleaching a black shirt, it won't take much bleach at all to work.
- You want to be sure that the bleach doesn't soak through to the back of the shirt, so put a hard surface in between the shirt layers while you're letting the bleach sit.
- When you get the bleaching you desire, take your shirt to a basin and rinse it out well, pealing off the Decor Element as you rinse.
- Put the shirt immediately in the washing machine – ALONE – and wash it well.
WHAT TO ORDER:
Decor Element of Choice, I used Sporty Snowboarder (116116) and Decor Element Applicator (114285)

Glass Decor Ornaments
A couple of days ago I shared with you the mitten/scarf/hat set that I made for the Gift Exchange for my Team Christmas Party. Today I'm going to share with you the Glass Ornaments that I made as a gift for everyone who attended! I'm also going to try to get them to my long distance 1st level downline that couldn't attend — just not to sure how to ship glass!

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:
- I created the snowflakes using Raw Decor Element Sheets. These sheets are come in a roll, you get two 12" x 24" sheets of Vinyl and two 12" x 24" sheets of transfer tape. The sheets come in Kraft, Chocolate, White and Dark Gray.
- These sheets were designed for use with the Big Shot, but I found a way to make then work with punches! At first it didn't seem possible because the punch wasn't cutting through the layers — but then I flipped the Decor Sheet over so that I was looking at the Grid Side instead of the Vinyl side and voila! It worked!!!!! It's funny that it matters what side you're looking at, but it does. The punch that I used is the Snowflake Punch.
- The inside of the ornaments are stuffed with basket paper stuffing – an easy way to add a splash of color!
- For each button attachment, use a Mini Glue Dot.
WHAT TO ORDER:
Chocolate Decor Element Sheets (114337), Fresh Favorites II Buttons (107422), Jumbo Snowflake Punch (116628), White Gel Pen (105021), Mini Glue Dot (103683) and Mistletoe Ribbon Orignals (116792)

Decor Stamp Pails
I made these little pails for my Free Class Night last week for ladies who came and brought along a friend who has never stamped with me before! Most of the items you'll see here are Exclusive Demonstrator Only products (one of the perks of joining the family, ask me how!) but you can create something along the same lines!

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:
- Decor Elements are fabulous vinyl images that don't have to go just on walls! Putting one on a little pail like this is a way to add an embellishment to any 3-D surface.
- Attaching buttons or other accessories to your vinyl images is a great way to add even more interest, just use a Mini Glue Dot as your adhesive!
- To add my colored strips of cardstock, I actually punched out a tag punch out in that color and not just the white, then I tore off the strip I needed. Then, you're sure to have a strip of cardstock that lines up perfectly with your corners!
- We don't carry the Basic Black Stampin' Spots for Customer purchase (sorry!) these are a Demonstrator Only item – but if you wanted to make this gift for a stamping friend, you could use any colored Stampin' Spot that we carry in our 48 main colors.
- The stamp image her is an Incentive Stamp that is another Demonstrator Only item – but you could use any small stamp. "Holiday Blitz" would be a fabulous alternative, and you could get 28 gifts from one set!
- The flower Decor Element is also a Demonstrator Only item – purchase Ginourmous Flowers II as an alternative!
WHAT TO ORDER:
Decor Element of Choice (Ginormous Flowers II – 114863), Stampin' Spot of Choice (Bold Brights – 105550, Earth Elements – 105551, Rich Regals – 105552 and Soft Subtles – 105553), Mini Stamp Set of Choice (Holiday Blitz – 114982), Whisper White Cardstock (100730), Basic Black Classic Ink (101179), Almost Amethyst Cardstock (102158), Regal Rose Cardstock (105130), Small Flat Cello Bags (103104), Playground Designer Buttons (116313), Sherbet Designer Buttons (116312), Bashful Blue 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (109029), Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (111368), Crop-A-Dile (108362), Mini Glue Dot (103683) and Decor Element Applicator (114285)
