Fabric Projects for your Inspiration!

After I posted THIS POST I started hunting around my studio to find some projects I had made up using the fabric that is on sale…. I found some to share with you!

First, SPRINGTIME VINTAGE. I had made SO much more with this fabric, I just adored it, but sadly for you (lucky for the recipients!) I think I've given a lot away…

The top two cards have some sewing on them, but easy peasy sewing — just pleating the fabric across the page and stitching. And if you didn't want to sew — you could duplicate these cards by using sticky strip to get the pleat without the stitching!
The bottom two cards are NO SEW cards for those who think buying fabric means having to take out needle and thread : )
The flower on the lower left hand corner is just a boat load of the fabric hot glued together. Add the Fun Flowers die on to your order to cut those sweet petals!
The card on the lower right hand corner has frayed edges for some added texture and is tacked down with Big Shot Adhesive Sheets — this is NOT an iron on adhesive, it's a peal and stick adhesive that works great with Fabric.

Second, we have SWEET STITCHES!!! When this fabric came out, I saw it as an opportunity to make some fun items for my sewing area. But I also wanted to prove that it was NOT just for sewing and made a framed piece for above my sewing machine of Landon.

For the framed piece, I found a picture of Landon wearing a knit sweater — not only does this fabric not need to be for sewing, it doesn't even need to be girly! I die cut circles of fabric and stitched them on the page — you could leaving the sewing part off and just adhere them with the Big Shot Adhesive Sheets.
Below the framed piece is a sewing apron I made. I'm really not a big sewer and this was my first bigger project. Don't love how it turned out, and I'm sure some of you could do better! But I made specialty pockets for scissors and pens and such…. and added a velcro removable pin cushion. For the fun, chunky ric rack — add the Tasteful Trim die on to your order! Not only is it great for cardstock and cards, it's fabulous for fabric pieces, too!
To jazz up a plain ironing board, I took a piece of the fabric in this line and pulled it over the ironing board cover. It was super easy, just used a staple gun to attach.
The last project is a little needle holder! This was a really fun item to make — I did sew it together with some felt.
