Sweet Pea Scrapbooking Class

Friday March 12th
6:30 – 9:30 pm
at Aly's Stamping Studio in West Irondequoit, NY

These classes are held monthly, and at each Scrapbooking Class you attend, you will complete 2, 2-page 12×12 layouts – 4 pages total. If you already scrapbook, add these pages to your existing album. If you don't, you could come to this class monthly and never scrapbook outside of class and have a fabulous 48-page album after a year!

The First Time you attend a Scrapbooking Class, you'll receive a FREE 12×12 Page Keeper to use every month to transport your completed pages home. In addition, at your first Scrapbooking Class Only, you can purchase any Scrapbook of your choice at a 20% discount!

Our March Scrapbooking Class is a "Sweet Pea" Scrapbooking Class. Create fabulous springy pages that are generic enough to be used for any photos you have! We'll be using two of my favorite products in the Occasions Mini Catalog – the Sweet Pea Paper Stack and coordinating Sweet Pea Felt.

Here's a look at just one of the layouts we will create that evening (these pages are designed to go side-by-side so the second page doesn't have a title and instead has room for journaling). Just as an aside, scrapbook photos are very difficult to photograph. I did the best I could, but the photos just doesn't do these layouts justice! If you would like to see them in person before you sign up for the class, stop on by my studio at any time and I would be happy to show them to you!:






You don't need to bring any photos with you to the scrapbooking classes, the pages are designed so that you can just add those on your own later, once you find the perfect photo!

The cost of this class is $20 and includes 1/2 pack of Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper (go home with what you don't use, which will be 22 unused sheets!!) and all other supplies needed.

Sweet Silhouettes

I'm back from Leadership Conference 2010! What a wonderful few days!!! Conference was amazing in every way — be sure to check out my Facebook Fan Page for lots of photos and a travel long. I've had a busy day to day getting back in the swing of things, but I'm hoping to upload some photos from my camera tomorrow to share with all of you – stay tuned!

Until then, I'll share a card that I made using the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set and the new Sweet Pea DSP in the Occasions Mini Catalog:

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:

  • This card is such a simple card, there's not much too it! I love 6" x 3" cards for the simplicity that the size calls for.
  • I let the Sweet Pea DSP take over the background – I love this tone on tone image!
  • This was a different way for me to use ribbon — I can't say that I've never not tied it before! But this grosgrain ribbon was just used as if it were cardstock, adhered in strips to the top of the cardstock.
  • Be sure to use a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer to evenly space your brads, as shown here with the Rose Red Brads.

A Rose for You

I had way too much fun watercoloring this rose! It's a little early for a Mother's Day Card… but it just sort of happened, it wasn't my intention for it to be that… that was just what RubOn I had that fit in the bracket and worked with the card!

The Designer Paper that I used here is from the Occasions Mini Catalog and it comes from this FABULOUS SLAB of paper!!! 48 sheets of Designer Series Paper — heaven! And it's such a wonderful price. 48 sheets would normally cost $39.80 in normal packaging, but in this whole slab is just $24.95!

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:

  • To create this detailed rose, I stamped the image in Basic Brown Classic Ink 3 times on Watercolor Paper. I then cut out different layers of the rose.
  • I watercolored the rose by using Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip Watercolor Wonder Crayons and Blender Pens. I just adore Watercolor Wonder Crayons for vibrant watercoloring, and I find that they keep their rich pigment better with Blender Pens. Aqua Painters seem to dilute the color a bit more.
  • The ribbon that you see here is one of our fabulous new colored Satin Ribbons! There are 9 delightful colors to choose from in the Occasions Mini Catalog.
