Greenhouse Spritz & Shimmer

I had made this card a while back… thought I had posted it (during the 2-Step into Spring Promotion…) and alas, I have not! Whoops! So here it is, a card showcasing the "Greenhouse Garden" stamp set – which you can of course sill order!

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:

• To achieve this shimmery watercolored look on the flowers, you're going to mix up ahead of time some Rubbing Alcohol and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint in a Sprtiz Bottle. Then, ink up your bold, colored, base image (So Saffron, Rose Red and Bashful Blue shown here) and BEFORE stamping the image on your cardstock, give the rubber and ink a direct sprtiz with our Shimmer Mist. This will add shimmer and blend your ink!
• The spritz look to the left of the main image was done with a Color Spritzer Tool and a Rose Red Stampin' Write Marker – sprtizing all the way through (a theme I seem to have going on these days!)
• Paper Piercing is made easing with the Stampin' Up! Mat Pack and Paper Piercing Tool, as shown along the thin strip of Sahara Sand Cardstock.
• Using the Corner Rounder on cardstock adds a look of subtle softness to any project!

Lots of Congrats!

I know, I know…. it's been WAY too long since I've posted some samples!!! I've been beyond busy with Spring Retreat Preparations and Home Life — having an almost 1 Year Old who has just discovered his mobility doesn't leave much time for stamping! Gone are the days that he played in one area while I stamped – now it's "You touch a stamp mom and I'll climb the stairs!" – but I wouldn't trade being home with him and working a little less for the world!! I really love the flexibility of running my own business and working on my own terms… it just hasn't left all of you with many samples this past week!

So I'll make up for it and show you THREE samples today!!! Only I didn't design a single one, but that's OK!

My 2nd Level Upline, Missy Shipman, has "unofficially" rolled me up to her first level in terms of recognition and incentives this year so that I receive a little extra support and encouragement – it's so nice to have someone being in that role for me! Shoebox Swap for Maria!

I can hardly believe that Regionals are coming up on Friday!! It seems like I had SO Much time to prepare, and now I'm of course scrambling to get everything done that I wanted to do.

Friday night after Regionals & Dinner we're doing a Shoebox SWAP with some fellow Demonstrators and a couple of Stampin' Up! Staff Members. • I just love using Dusty Durango and Sahara Sand together for a "woodsy" feel – they look so sharp and have such contrast!

Beautiful Wings of Friends

I had SO much fun making this card! I don't usually work with such bright colors, but I found it in a Demonstrator Resource on Color Combinations and that I would give it a try – I'm glad I did!

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:

• These precious butterflies couldn't be easier to make with the Big Shot and Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die that is in the new Occasions Mini Catalog! Just run a pieces of cardstock through the machine sandwiched in an embosslit and these little beauties is the end result — cut out and dry embossed all in one BIG Shot!
• I cut out the paper centers of the Metal Edge Tags with a Hobby Blade – these tags take on a wonderfully different look using them in this way! I used Crystal Effects to adhere them to the page.
• I cut off the piping end from a piece of White Grosgrain Ribbon to tie through the button – refer to this past post for more details on this technique!
