Ornament Gift Box
Back in this post I showed you the ornaments that I had made for my downline at our Team Christmas Party. Today I thought I would share the Gift Box that I created to wrap them in!

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:
- This box is beyond simple to make – just roll the Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die through the Big Shot and it's all cut out and scored! All you have to do is pop it together and add a dab of adhesive. The perfect simplicity for mass quanitites!
- When selecting paper or cardstock for this die, you want to use either cardstock or Specialty Paper that is a little bit heavier than regular Designer Paper. Regular Designer Paper will work, but it won't be as durable and won't keep it shape as well.
- The window was created by punching a 1 3/4" Circle Punch into the front of the box and setting a piece if Thick Window Sheet behind it – it creates a sturdy, almost plexi-glass like opening!
- Be sure to use Sticky Strip to keep the box together – you don't want your hard work to fall apart when you add some weight in it!
WHAT TO ORDER:
Stampin' Up! Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die (115965), Stampin' Up! Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439), Extended Premium Crease Pad (117630), Sticky Strip (104294), Window Sheets Thick (114324), 1 3/4" Cirlce Punch (112004) and Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper (116770)

Wandering Thanks & Appreciation
I wanted to make up about 20 cards as Thank You Cards for the Women who attended the Women's Retreat at our church a few weekends ago. I was asked to lead two projects with them (see my old blog) and it was the first time stamping for many! So I just wanted to send them a little note and invite them to my next upcoming class. So these cards needed to be a little on the simple side of things, nothing too wow this go around!

I have received a lot of the Level 1 "Patterns Designer Series Paper Packs" and wanted to use up those papers, so the paper pack determined my color combo! I ended up having 3 different "looks" as I rotated through the background paper. The Ruby Red shown above and then the Really Rust and Mellow Moss shown below:

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:
- The wide grosgrain ribbon was tied uniquely by going up through a slot punch before being knotted. TIP: For trimming your ribbon ends at a "v", fold your ribbon in half and make 1 angled cut. Then when you unfold, you have your two cuts perfectly even!
- This big bold image can be a little bit stubborn to get a crisp image – try stamping on a tile or other rock solid surface.
- Earn this Designer Series Paper for FREE by hosting a workshop or placing an order totaling $150 or more!

Razzleberry vs. Red
What a difference a color can make! When I started this card, I had the typical Christmas colors in hand – at least, MY typical Christmas colors, Real Red and Old Olive. I loved using this Little Leaf die as the branch for the birdie, but when I was done, something just didn't sit quite right with me. So, I re-did the card, this time using Rich Razzleberry instead of Real Red. Then I was satisfied! It's amazing to me what a difference one color can make in a card design.
Although, some of you may prefer the Real Red! We all have different preferences and tastes. Which version is your favorite, Razzleberry or Red? Leave me a comment and let me know!

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:
- Backing these jumbo brads with a 1" circle of cardstock gives some added intrest. I set the brads through that circle punch out, and then mounted the cardstock/brad unit on the card with a Stampin' Dimensional.
- "Little Leaves" is a Stampin' Up! Exclusive Sizzlit Die. It's probably one of my favorite little dies, it makes such wonderful accents with almost any stamp set! Here, I substituted it where the stamped version of the branch would have normally gone.
- "Sprigs" of cording tied in your ribbon is a wonderful way to add some metallic vibes to any card.
