MDS Friday – Christmas Countdown!

Happy Friday!!! It's time for an MDS Blog Hop! This rest of the month we're going to be showing you things that we're working on for Christmas!!!

What I'm sharing today is a fun project I've been doing with my son. He's 2 1 /2 and at such a fun age, just starting to "get it" with the whole Christmas thing! While I really WANTED to do a countdown calendar with our Peekaboo Frame Die on Stampin' Store Containers… I just didn't have the time. SO, I designed this sign in MDS, and printed of 25, changing the numbers for each day!

Then, every day, I've been taking a picture of him holding the sign! It started off with a letter from the North Pole letting him know what we were doing — that if he was a good boy and held up the number for a photo, he would get to do a fun Christmas Activity to celebrate!

Then, I've been putting all of the photos into a Swatchbook! That way he'll have it for all of the memories — with 26 pages including the cover, it comes out perfect for the 25 Days of Christmas! Here are some of the pages:

Enjoy and go check out the other projects for the week!

MDS Friday: Remembrance

It's time for another My Digital Studio Friday Challenge & Blog Hop!!!

This week's challenge was "REMEMBRANCE !" It's been a while since I've worked on my 2009 album with all of the projects I've had going on — and I REALLY need to get back to that – before 2011 ends! So I looked through my photos to see what I could use to fit the theme, and found some Memorial Day and thought that would fit – remembrance, memorial…. 'ya know!

So here is the page I came up with:

This page is such a hodgepodge of things!!! The background paper is from Well Worn, the strip along the bottom is from the Noteworthy Digital Content CD and a thin strip of cardstock with some stitching. The stamp brushes I used as well as the star shape are all from Red, White and Blue Embellishments Kit. Then we have some Vintage Trinkets, Deck the Halls Buttons and Baker's Twine!

Now head on over and see what other girls have come up with this week!

MDS Blog Hop…. FALL!

Happy Friday!!! It's MDS Blog Hop day!! Today's challenge was FALL — which worked PERFECTLY with all of the NEW MDS Downloads that have came out over the past 2 weeks!!! There are some super awesome kits – so if you haven't checked them out yet, be sure to do so!

I decided to do a spread with Thanksgiving Photos from 2009 (still working on that album!!)

I'm out of town at Stampin' Up!'s Founder's Circle Retreat, and just don't have the time to type up a full list of downloads used (sorry!) – but I primarily used components from the new "Greatful Heart" Designer Kit.

MDS Blog Hop… This One’s for the Men!

Happy Friday!!! It's MDS Blog Hop day!! Today's challenge was right up my alley… it was to create something for the men or boys in our life! I didn't have a hard time finding photos, in fact…. couldn't decide which ones to use! If I hadn't been on vacation this week, I probably would have been an overachiever and done a couple pages….

What I landed on were photos from Father's Day 2009 (still on that 2009 album!).  I had fun with the "Woodland Walk" DSP for this one – it's so rich looking! It was one of my favorite DSPs we ever had…. I miss it, and glad I can still use it in MDS!

To create the looped Grosgrain Ribbon is actually a fun little trick I learned at Leadership Conference!! All of your embellishments are also saved as a JPEG in your Photo Files on your computer. If you add the ribbon as a Photo instead of an Embellishment, you have photo cropping capabilities! Which means you can crop the bow so that you just have the loop — so cool!

You'll also see that I filled the photo into the Half Circle Punch! Did you know that you can fill ANY punch with a photo? Another fun trick, here's how: Add your punch where you want it, sized the way you want it and all. Then add Designer Paper as the fill. Once you've filled the punch, double click on it to pull up editing options — drag the DSP all the way out of the punch out so you are left with an empty space, then click "Replace Image" at the bottom, and select the photo you want in it's place!

(In addition to the My Digital Studio software and content that comes with it, I also used the following downloads: Woodland Walk DSP, Grungetown  Kit, Half Circle Punch, Candy Lane Buttons, Deck the Halls Buttons, Simple Stitches, 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain and Bold Branches Stamp Brush Set)

Now "Hop" on over and see what cupcake themed, digitally created things the other girls have done!

MDS Tuesday… on Wednesday!

Hi Everyone!

We're on vacation this week – the first half was spent in Washington DC! After 5 days of walking and walking and walking some more…… we're back home and having a VERY lazy day keeping our feet UP on the couch! Which is giving me some time to catch up on some MDS pages : ) — I had every intention of working on some pages in the evenings…. but Brad and I were so exhausted that we passed right out along with Landon around 9 pm every night – so that didn't happen! Which means I skipped MDS Tuesday…. so here I am on Wednesday : ).

I'm still not working until next Monday… but…. I leave My Digital Studio out of the "work" category because it's still something I simply enjoy for myself. So if you've sent me an e-mail over the past few days – hang in there! I'll be back to e-mails and the rest on Monday!

The pages I'm sharing today are of Landon eating "Real" food for the first time… It's crazy, but I've HARDLY used the "Play Date" line – even though it's perfect for kids photos! When I came to that realization, and then saw how great the line matched with the bib he was wearing, it wasn't too hard to throw this layout together…

(In addition to the My Digital Studio software and content that comes with it, I also used the following downloads: Eat Cake DSP, 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, 1/2" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Soft Subtles Buttons, Baker's Twine and Play Date Embellishments)
