Razzleberry Blush Winter Post

I received this beautiful card in the mail from one of my downline, Fern Legters. Didn't she do a fabulous job!? I just love how she's combined Blush Blossom with Rich Razzleberry. I hardly ever pull out Blush Blossom, it's so refreshing to see!

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:

• The Top Note Die makes a wonderful backdrop for collage stamping – and this stamp set, Winter Post, is the perfect stamp set for such a task! With it's odds and ends pieces, it takes the guesswork out of this technique and lends itself to a fabulous Vintage look!
• Blush Blossom is a wonderful color to pull into this rich toned card – it balances out the deep tones that Rich Razzleberry and Soft Suede bring to the card – a great balance!
• Of course, Stampin' Up! has designed a punch to coordinate with this "Dec. 25" Stamp — pair it with the Designer Label Punch and you won't have to cut!

A Cardinal Christmas

I received this beautiful Christmas Card in the mail the other day from a customer, Jeanne Gage. Didn't she do a fabulous job with this cardinal?! It's so striking.

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:

• The Scallop Oval Punch was designed to coordinate with both the Small and Large Oval Punches for flawless layering! The word "joy" is shown here with the Large Oval Punch.
• Jeanne showed a fabulous example of how you don't always have to watercolor to get such a richly colored image! She used Stampin' Write Markers and it came out beautifully. I love how bold the colors are.
• Sponging is a fabulous way to add a bit of extra somethin' somethin' to any project — the sponging done on this card really takes it to the next level!
• Ribbon doesn't always have to have a knot or bow attached to it – here, it's simply used as another layer. So for those of you who curse ribbon tying – no worries, it doesn't mean you have to do without!

Razzleberry vs. Red

What a difference a color can make! When I started this card, I had the typical Christmas colors in hand – at least, MY typical Christmas colors, Real Red and Old Olive. I loved using this Little Leaf die as the branch for the birdie, but when I was done, something just didn't sit quite right with me. So, I re-did the card, this time using Rich Razzleberry instead of Real Red. Then I was satisfied! It's amazing to me what a difference one color can make in a card design.

Although, some of you may prefer the Real Red! We all have different preferences and tastes. Which version is your favorite, Razzleberry or Red? Leave me a comment and let me know!

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:

• Backing these jumbo brads with a 1" circle of cardstock gives some added intrest. I set the brads through that circle punch out, and then mounted the cardstock/brad unit on the card with a Stampin' Dimensional.
• "Little Leaves" is a Stampin' Up! Exclusive Sizzlit Die. It's probably one of my favorite little dies, it makes such wonderful accents with almost any stamp set! Here, I substituted it where the stamped version of the branch would have normally gone.
• "Sprigs" of cording tied in your ribbon is a wonderful way to add some metallic vibes to any card.

Hung Up for the Holidays!

Today I'm in Canandaigua, NY putting on a BIG Christmas Bonanza Event with several of my downline members for our customers to attend! It's going to be awesome! We were up late last night setting up the facilities – wonderful projects, yummy food and a whole table filled with exclusive Christmas Samples just for attendees to viewI!!! Pretty awesome!! Glitzy Snowflakes with Razzleberry on Top!

Isn't this card just to die for!? One of my downline members, Jen Rios Raner, made this fabulous card as her SWAP at our Team's Oktoberfest Stamping Retreat and I knew then and there that it was a must for my upcoming GRAND Christmas Card Class! Jen had some wonderful Polka Dot Big Shot Embossing on her Bordering Blue background that I choose to leave out in this version for sake of time in the class setting.
