Scallop Square Patchwork Bag

When we had our Team Fabric Day last month, Team Member Christine Luce brought me this adorable bag that she made! Didn't she do a wonderful job? It was all done with our Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and the Scallop Square Die.

ALY'S HELPFUL HINTS:

  • I am not a sewer. So I have very little helpful advice for you on this project! I can tell you that this particular die will cut 8 layers of fabric at a time – wowza!
  • For better cutting, place a piece of cardstock over TOP of your top Standard Cutting Pad. This helps give the fabric a better cut without having threads sticking together.
  • You're going to want the batting sandwiched inside the two dies to be smaller than the dies — where you see the stitched square holding it all together is where the end of the batting is — you don't want the batting to be the same shape as the scallop squares, or the batting will show at the fringe edges.
