I have a fun post for you today!!! I’m on a MISSION to get my 428912579 photos of my kids into albums. The ONLY way that’s going to happen is with Simple Project Life spreads. After a month of organizing and preparing to start Project Life (I’m so dramatic – it really isn’t this complicated, I’m just an organizing NUT. I even made these PL Dividers) I *finally* dove in with my first page!!!
My goal of my first layout was to use left over pieces from the May Paper Pumpkin Kit – Many Manly Occasions. Because I wanted to use that kit, the colors were chosen for me. So, I found photos that would work with the Pumpkin Pie. I ended up dying the Pool Party die cut shape with the Night of Navy Stampin’ Spot from the kit for an even better match.
Once I had those basic elements together, I decided I wanted to pull in the photos a little bit more – so played around with a punch art piece to match the lifesaver on his shirt. I’m tickled with the results!!!
One of the fun things about making a unique Project Life card like that, is that it’s already 4″ wide and 3″ tall – the PERFECT layering piece for a card. So, while I made one for the Project Life page, I may as well make another one to stick on a card!
Exactly the same element! Just changed up the sentiment, mounted it to a card with some DSP and added some Epoxy shapes.
Here’s a video walking you through how to make this Lifesaver Punch Art piece using come Circle Punches and the Bow Builder Punch:
